It looks like sometimes a management server will not download/receive the updated list of countries for Updateable Objects. I’ve seen this in R80.20 and R80.30. *Update: looks like this error can appear in R80.40 and R81 as well.

This problem creates some startling errors:

  • The validation pane shows X errors
  • Object no longer available
  • Country is no longer supported

You will see something like the following when launching SmartConsole:

After you click “Show pane” it will display a long list of errors:

A closer look will show that countries within Updateable Objects are “no longer supported”

Don’t worry, your database is not corrupted.

There is no SK article that I have found that addresses this, but the following steps will clear this up:

  • SSH into the management server
  • Switch into ‘expert’ mode
  • Run ‘cloudguard stop’
  • Run ‘cloudguard start’
  • Launch SmartConsole
  • Select ‘Install Database’

After that, the errors should go away. Enjoy.

Thanks. Looks like sk164772 references the ‘cloudguard’ commands and the error message: “Object is no longer supported. Enforcing security for this object is not possible.” Would be helpful if the SK included the other possible error messages, tied this to the updateable objects’ countries, and had some screenshots. I’ve found that ‘install database’ is also needed.
